About
The virtual reality headgear called the Meta Quest Pro is made by Meta. After being announced in October 2021, it was made public in October 2022.
- This headset can be used without a computer and is stand-alone.
- The weight is 722 g.
- A high horizontal field of view of 106°.
- No external base stations are needed.
- Two 6DoF controllers can be ordered together with this headset.
First mixed reality-focused VR headset from Meta is the Meta Quest Pro. The headset, which was also code-named “Seacliff” and “Project Cambria” during development, is primarily designed for business clients and boasts a number of noteworthy upgrades over the Quest 2 headset, the company’s consumer-focused headset.
Eye tracking and dynamic foveated rendering, which will be used to render images at a better level of detail compared to the Quest 2 headset, are exclusive to the Meta Quest Pro headset.
In addition, the Quest Pro is among the first commercially available VR headsets to feature pancake lenses, a multi-element lens design that drastically lowers the distance needed between the display and the lenses and, as a result, the depth profile of the headset itself. When compared to the Quest 2, the device’s weight distribution is greatly improved by this, along with its counterbalanced headstrap.
In addition, the Quest Pro is the first Meta headset to offer complete color passthrough, a capability that enables mixed reality use and is demonstrated by Meta in its promotional videos for the product.
